About our Riding School
What would Living Waters be without its amazing family of internationally diverse Riding School members! We pride ourselves in being a warm and welcoming family orientated riding centre. It is crucial to us that our riders ride and interact with horses and ponies in a gentle and kind manner and show respect towards all animals, equipment, and kindness to one another.
Uniquely to Living Waters, we donate a portion of all our income to support specific conservation and education projects across the globe.
Our aim is not simply to teach riders how to ride, but to ride with understanding and learn additional skills such as equine feeding, First Aid, Tack, rider etiquette and many other skills that will equip them to get the most out of the relationship with the horse/pony they are responsible for. In addition, our members are sensitive to our nature conservation and education ethos – creating a sensitivity for animals and people less fortunate.
Our riding school operates on Mondays through to Saturdays
and are closed on Sundays. Booking is essential.
What is your rider experience?
When you make your booking, you will be asked about your riding ability/experience.
COMPLETE BEGINNER
Apart from a quick lead on a donkey during your family holiday in Spain, you have limited experience of being on top of a horse/pony.
Complete beginners will be on the lead with a team member next to them – leading them while they learn the correct posture, tack application etc.
BEGINNER RIDER
Our beginner riders can walk and steer the horses/ponies by themselves.
As a beginner rider you will also learn the 3 basic strides namely: walk, trot and initial controlled canters.
INTERMEDIATE
These riders can walk, trot and canter confidently and know how to negotiate the horses over and through small obstacles independently.
ADVANCE RIDER
Advance riders are riders who ride at least 3 times a week and participate in more advance riding instruction such as show jumping, cross country, and dressage. Advance riders can confidently ride our “sharper” horses with understanding.
